If you are interested in ayahuasca but not yet ready to commit to a full retreat, you may find yourself looking to participate in a one-night ceremony. As ayahuasca continues to grow in popularity in Costa Rica, we get many messages about availability for one night ceremonies or short 2 - 3 day retreats. Unfortunately, we do not offer one-night ceremonies and our shortest retreat duration is 5 days, 4 nights, 2 ceremonies.
We feel that participating in an ayahuasca ceremony is a big commitment and should be taken very seriously and respected. It is an incredibly powerful plant medicine that should be approached with reverence and intention. Many of the requests we get for one-night ceremonies are from people who are vacationing in Costa Rica and want to add an ayahuasca ceremony as an afterthought, rather than being driven with a purpose to the medicine.
Another reason we do not offer any ayahuasca one-day ceremonies is that it feels irresponsible to offer the medicine in such a way, without guaranteeing a safe place with support as one processes the experience. Ayahuasca can bring up intense revelations, and emotions and even uncover traumas, so it is important to us that we hold space for that process without sending people on their way back into the world immediately after.
If you are feeling called to mother ayahuasca, the greatest gift you can give yourself is an investment into your wellbeing by attending an ayahuasca retreat. Retreats aren't one size fits all, and it may take some time, research, and exploration to find the retreat that works best for you, but having an environment that is focused on your healing and processing will offer the most opportunity for growth.

As individuals who have had trauma experiences, we understand the importance of having a safe space that encourages vulnerability for authentic self-reflection and discovery. Healing can be painful, and we are here to support our guests so that they feel seen and held throughout the process.
For more than a decade, we have committed ourselves to this path, and we respect the Peruvian Mestizo traditions that have been handed down from our teacher and his teacher before him. As part of that tradition, we complete master plant dietas that give us the tools necessary to create a protected sacred ceremonial space.

The ayahuasca Costa Rica retreat facility was designed to blend into the environment that surrounds it. Each of our 10 cabins was built with wood harvested directly from the 9-acre property. Our pool and cool water jacuzzi are nestled amongst local flora and fauna. We receive regular visits from macaws, howler monkeys, caotis, and iguanas.

Matthew and I have been partners in this work for over a decade. Plant medicine brought us together in 2014 and we've been dedicated to this path ever since. Everything in our lives has been shaped by Ayahuasca. Not only did she lift us from our darkest moments after years of battling addiction, but she gave us the purest gift of love in finding each other.
We've had our share of ups and downs. Things haven't always been easy. It's been a long road and we've had to navigate many personal and professional challenges over the years. But at the end of the day, ayahuasca has helped us cultivate a deep love rooted in mutual respect, support, and admiration. We've turned to her to help us through trials of marriage and personal doubt. It's because of this work that we've been able to grow stronger as individuals and as partners, lovers, and best friends.
We hear all the time from guests that they don't understand how we can do this work, and while we love to help others, the truth is that it's just a happy by-product of helping ourselves. It's our hope that as we continue to heal, we are able to better support you in your own healing.

Ayahuasca is generally considered to be safe when used properly, however, there are known risks associated with its use. The primary concern is interactions between ayahuasca and other medications which could many adverse effects, even death. We do not take this responsibility lightly. To ensure the safety of all our guests, we require every potential participant to complete a medical questionnaire over the phone prior to booking.
