About the Recipe
This vibrant cabbage and apple salad is the perfect blend of crisp, crunchy, and tangy flavors. The sweet-tart green apple pairs beautifully with the earthy red cabbage, while toasted pecans add a delightful crunch. Tossed in a simple apple cider vinegar dressing, this refreshing salad is light, nutritious, and easy to make.

Note: The ingredient quantities listed are approximate. I’ve been cooking by ‘eyeballing’ for years, and this recipe has naturally evolved without precise measurements. I have done my best to estimate the correct amounts and ratios of ingredients for smaller portions, but feel free to adjust as needed. Everyone’s taste preferences vary, so you may want more or less of some ingredients. Feel free to play and make it your own! Enjoy.
Ingredients
1 small red cabbage, thinly sliced
½ green apple, julienned or thinly sliced
¼ cup chopped pecans
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Preparation
Step 1 - Prepare the Ingredients:Â
Thinly slice the red cabbage, chop the green apple, and crush the pecans.
Step 2 - Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, apple, and pecans. Add ACV and mix thoroughly.
Step 3 - Let It Rest & Chill (Optional):Â
For a more tender salad, let it sit in fridge for 15 minutes before serving. The ACV will soften the cabbage.
